The Handing Over Ceremony for “The Project for Upgrading of Sigatoka District School” under the Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects (GGP) programme

On 12 August 2024, Japan handed over new 1x3 classroom and accompanying furniture to Sigatoka District School.
The Ambassador to Fiji Mr. Rokuichiro MICHII and the Honorable Aseri RADRODRO, Minister for Education handed over the new building which worth approximately FJD 173 thousand, funded by Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) Programme.
This milestone marks a significant enhancement in the educational facility, providing students with a spacious and conducive learning environment. The addition of these classrooms is a testament to our commitment to academic excellence and community development.
At the ceremony, Ambassador Michii stated that he believed that quality education would drive the development of the region and the economy of Fiji and he would continue to making efforts to be able to assist Fiji's nation building. Ambassador expressed his wish to strengthen the friendship between Fiji and Japan.
